Sex and age Woman in her 30s
Chief complaint The patient came saying “whitening does not make my teeth as white as I would like” and “I want the shape of my teeth and the gaps between them tidied up.”
The main concern was “having healthy teeth ground down,” so the patient chose laminate veneers, which can be done with almost no grinding of their own teeth.
We carried out “no-prep laminate veneers”: the tooth surface is prepared very thinly (about 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm), and a thin ceramic shell, like a press-on nail, is bonded onto it.
No anesthesia is needed, and there is almost no pain.
This time, the whiter and more translucent shade “Super White” was chosen, and the impression of the smile became brighter and more glamorous at once.
Treatment period and number of visits Period: about 2 weeks to 1 month
Visits: 2 to 3 (impression → fitting)
※Unlike orthodontic treatment, which takes years, you can get an ideal tooth alignment and shade in a short time.
Cost ¥110,000 per tooth (tax included)
Risks and side effects Because ceramic is bonded onto the tooth, it is slightly thicker than the original tooth (it may feel odd until you get used to it).
Because extremely thin ceramic is used, it may crack or come off if very strong force is applied. Depending on the bite, it may not be suitable.
